Stephen Ziff, Cam Shute, Julie McBride and I went up to Cerise with high hopes of skiing the northwest of Matier. A not-so-small avalanche had swept the face, so we decided to look for turns elsewhere. We skied a fun couloir located at the north end of Joffre’s southwest face. The snow was pretty firm which added some excitement to the descent.
